Soprano Kate Reimann and Mezzo-Soprano Johanna Nordhorn performed Life DOesn't Frighten Me At All, Kendrick's song cycle set to Maya Angelou poems on this program which featured female composers. The program also included Three Browning Songs by Amy Beach, Sechs Lieder by Clara Schumann, Clari's aria from Clair de lune by Libby Larsen, "Between the Bliss and Me" by Lori Laitman and Songs from Snow White Turns 60 by Dale Trumbore. Other musicians included Gail Hintz, Piano, and Nathan Ruggles, Tenor.

International Alliance of Women in Music Congress
Eva's piece "Juntos," for flute, bassoon and viola, was one of the featured compositions during the 20th Anniversary Congress of the International Alliance of Women in Music (IAWM). This piece was the recipient of the Judith Lang Zaimont Prize for the IAWM 2014 New Music Search. This was Kendrick's second piece performed at an IAWM Congress. Her song "To D.R. In Holloway" was performed by the Northern Arizona University Women's Choir at the 2012 Congress.

Eva's mini-opera The Break-Up was performed as part of the Contemporary Theater Company's Springboard Season Festival along with Love, Possibly, an improvised romantic comedy by the improv troupe Wilbur Wilbur Nealbur. Ben Church and Meg Perry starred as the hapless couple in The Break-Up.

Eva and New York Acting Coach Denise Simon co-led a full-day masterclass on auditioning for musical theatre for ages 12-18, hosted by the Academy Players of RI. Students learned audition technique, working with an accompanist, acting the song, and much more!

William O'Neill, performed with the San Francisco Opera Company, performed the World Premiere of Kendrick's new mini-opera The Break-Up with Boston Soprano Noell Dorsey. Also on the program was Kendrick's song cycle Debit Dude with poems by Paul Turner, "I Envy Seas Whereon He Rides" from Kendrick's chamber opera Emily as well as arias and art songs by Georges Bizet, Franz Schubert, Modest Mussorsgsky, Mark Adamo and much more.

The Thompson Street Opera Company produced the Midwest premiere of "Emily," Kendrick's opera about the life of Emily Dickinson, during their 2014 season of opera shorts. The Thompson Street Opera Company, founded in 2011 by Artistic Director Claire DiVizio, is dedicated to the production of new opera works. Performers included: Kristina Bachrach (Emily Dickinson), Lisa Perry (Mabel Loomis-Todd), Matthew Peckham (Friend), Preston Orr (Austin Dickinson), Jilian McGreen (Susan Dickinson), Peter Morgan (Edward Dickinson), Haley De Witt (Lavinia Dickinson), Andrew Munn (Reverend Wadsworth), Judith Youngblood (Emily Norcross Dickinson) and Samuel Soto (Suitor). The production was directed by Julane Havens with Katy Vaitkevicius (conductor) and Adrienne Fontenot (piano).

This is the third annual concert featuring original compositions by the trio. Eva was a workshop leader at the Ballou-Channing District UUMN Conference on the topic of vocal solos in church services. Also featured at the conference were a vocal technique workshop led by Jeannie Gagne, an Organ Repertoire workshop led by Richard Hill, and a choral reading session led by Anne Watson-Born. Eva's piece "When I First Came In," was read in the choral reading session, and she was a soloist for the closing service.

Atlanta-based Anon Ensemble is a trio dedicated to expanding the horizons of chamber music.  The unique instrumentation (flute, viola, bassoon) lends itself to many different styles of music.  With only one existing work for this combination prior to the group's formation, Anon has created imaginative new arrangements which are both exciting and accessible.  The group commissioned composer Eva Kendrick to write their signature piece, Juntos which means "together" in Spanish.

"Le Bistro Cafe," a jazz-influenced musical comedy with music, lyrics and book by Eva Kendrick, had its East Coast premiere as a dinner theatre production at First Parish Medfield. The show was sold out all three nights and featured the following cast: John Kornet (Tom), Becca Kornet (Maxine), Christine Aucoin (Lisa), Brian Gonzalez (Damien), Daniel Oullette (PIerre), Shirley Riga (Zsazsa), Kelly McManus (Chloe), Ryan Spilker (Wilbur), Nino Ruggieri (Jorge), and a chorus of busboys/waitresses: Noah Day, Hailey Fice, Marie Kimball, Eliza Martin, Helen Moniz and Melissa Reinertsen.

Come celebrate fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, and all the men who nurture and care for our children and youngsters as they blossom into adulthood. We’ll even celebrate the blossoms themselves with the Flower Communion, created by Rev. Norbert Capek at the 3,000-member Unitarian Church in Prague, Czechoslovakia during the years before World War II. Capek died at the hands of the Nazis in the aftermath of his resistance to the Nazi oppression. The Flower Communion lives on throughout the UU world. Please bring a few sprays of flowers from your yards and gardens for our children to distribute during this memorable ceremony. The Milford High School Chamber Choir, led by Josh Nannestad, will premiere "Those Lips that Love's Own Hand Did Make," (Sonnet 145) an original commissioned work by Eva Kendrick. The Concert Choir and Chamber choir selections also included "Come Live With Me," by Gilpin, "Three Madrigals" by Diamer/Shakespeare, "Let Thy Hand Be Strengthened" by G.F. Handel, and the "Hallelujah Chorus" by Handel.

Eva Kendrick's one-act opera Emily was performed as a fundraiser for First Parish Medfield. It was organized and hosted by the Worshiip & Music Committee and included a first act of Broadway showtunes and art songs. The performers were Becca Kornet (Emily Dickinson), John Kornet (Friend), Kelly McManus (Lavinia Dickinson), Noell Dorsey (Mabel Loomis Todd), Anney Barret (Susan Dickinson), Mike Myers (Austin Dickinson), John K. McElroy II (Suitor), Rebecca Stephenson (Emily Norcross Dickinson), and Fritz Fleischmann (Edward Dickinson). Funds went to benefit the church and the Worship & Music program.

Flutist Pamela Schuett will perform a recital of flute pieces for her Flute Performance degree at Illinois State University. The theme of the program is music by living female composers, including Kendrick's piece "9 Years, 2 Miles," which was originally commissioned for Jessica Sherer at Longy School of Music. Other works on the program will include "Of Water and Clouds" by Elena Ruehr, "Sunswept" and "Lullaby" by Adrienne Albert, "Music for a Summer Evening" by Gwyneth Walker, "Reflections" by Katherine Hoover, and "Botanical Obsessions" by Elizabeth Brown. Other performers include Yanping Lin (piano) Ramiro Miranda (violin) and Irene Diaz (cello). The recital is free and open to the public.

Eva performed "Be On Your Own Side" with the UU of Honolulu band, led by Karen Valasek. The piece was written by Kendrick and Kelsey Chatterton during their Coming of Age mentoring and is meant to reassure teenagers who are going through the process of coming out to their family and friends.

In lieu of admission, donations were taken to the Metrowest Pet Pantry.

Kendrick's a cappella ensemble Trills n Chills performed at this annual event which features a cappella groups and soloists from the greater Boston area. Kendrick's students Jessica Price, Julia Adrian, Natalie Andews and Gus Laughlin also performed as soloists. Proceeds from this charitable event go to the Medway Microfinance Club, which helps fund female enterpreneurs in Africa.

Animus Ensemble & Prehensile Productions: Music for the Forest

The Boston-based chamber group Animus Ensemble collaborated with Prehensile Productions to host an evening of music and film. Kendrick's commissioned piece "Through the Sieve" was premiered at this event, which also included a screening of the documentary in progress, Defending Eden, which chronicles a group of Waorani students in the Ecuadorian Amazon who embark on a trip to help preserve their cultural history.

John Kleshinski Faculty Concert Series: A Night of Poetry

Songs and song cycles based on the poetry of Elizabeth Bishop was presented in this concert at the Community Music Center of Boston. The program included a song by CMCB Piano Faculty Steve Yenger, and song cycles by Jeffrey Thomson and Eva Kendrick. Jessica Price performed the premiere of Kendrick's piece "From Thought to Page," set to four of Bishop's poems. Other performers included soprano Noell Dorsey and Martin Thompson.
